This action was taken to resolve asbestos claims in a fair and equitable manner, to protect the long-term value of the Debtors' businesses, and to maintain the Debtors' leadership positions in their markets. The following subsidiaries of USG Corporation filed chapter 11 petitions: United States Gypsum Company ("U.S. Gypsum"); USG Interiors, Inc.; USG Interiors International, Inc.; L&W Supply Corporation; Beadex Manufacturing, LLC; B-R Pipeline Company; La Mirada Products Co., Inc.; Stocking Specialists, Inc.; USG Industries, Inc.; and USG Pipeline Company.

On April 7, 2006, the Bankruptcy Court entered an order permitting the Debtors to begin soliciting votes from asbestos personal injury claimants regarding whether to approve the plan. Pursuant to the Court's order, individuals or entities that hold asbestos personal injury or related claims against any of the Debtors are entitled to vote on the Plan.
